An excerpt from Weeping may Last for a Night…

One family’s journey from devastation to restoration

From a prayer for David:

Father, in the name of Jesus, we confess Your Word concerning healing and deliverance. As we do this we believe and say that Your Word will not return to You void, but will accomplish what it says it will (see Isaiah 55:11). Therefore, we believe in the name of Jesus that David is healed and delivered, according to 1 Peter 2:24. It is written in Your Word that Jesus Himself took our weaknesses and bore our sicknesses and healed all of our diseases (see Matthew 8:17; Psalms 103:3). Therefore, with great boldness and confidence, we say on the authority of that written Word that David is redeemed from the curse of alcoholism and drug abuse, and we refuse to tolerate its symptoms any longer

Satan, we speak to you in the name of Jesus and say that your principalities, your powers, your spirits who rule the present darkness, and your spiritual wickedness in heavenly places are bound from operating against David in any way. As David chooses to equip himself with the armor of God, the shield of faith will protect him from your fiery days (see Ephesians 6:12, 16).

As servants of almighty God, we thank you for the promise of Your Word, Father, that our children and grandchildren will dwell in safety and that they will be established (see Psalms 102:28 AMP). We are also promised that because David has been established in righteousness, no weapon formed against him is able to prosper (see Isaiah 54:17) and that our weeping will end because David will return from the enemy’s land (see Jeremiah 31:16 AMP). Amen!
