“Thank you for visiting our website and showing an interest in the book. Weeping may Last for a Night… is about our family’s experience with our middle son’s drug addiction and our journey towards restoration. Although I was hesitant to share our story of heartache, desperation and sadness, when I was awakened in the middle of the night a few years ago with a very clear message to write this book, I knew it was time.
Our desire is to let the world know that even in their darkest hour of desperation in dealing with an addicted loved-one, they can still find hope and strength in God’s Word and His sustaining Grace.
This story is not only about the faithfulness of God in David’s life but also about God’s faithfulness to all of us. My encouragement to each and every person reading the words of this book is this: “God shows no partiality” (see Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11). If He is faithful to one, He will be faithful to another, and in all facets of life, there is hope in Him! So my prayer for you is, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope” (Romans 15:13 ESV).
Kimberly knew that her son’s addiction was his captor and he was powerless. Their home had become a battleground. Worried for the other kids in the house they became fearful to go to bed at night. Terry began to feel like he was “in a fog all the time, colors were not longer vivid and trees and flowers were no longer clear” Gloom was hovering over their lives…
Even in her son's darkest days Kimberly continued to hope and she continued to pray. After yet another sleepless night worrying about David when Kimberly went to church she “walked into the sanctuary and heard the praise songs ring out, a sense of peace washed over” her. The scriptures gave her a glimpse of hope when she would read verses such as Ezekiel 34 v 11-12, I will “seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.”
